Position Overview:

The Database Analyst is responsible for supporting the Database Manager with all planning and analysis, preparing direct mail files for the designated mail house, programming loyalty offers through AS400, managing all databases and lists supporting Marketing and Gaming programs. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Mount Airy Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control standards and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for providing analysis of player-tracking information.
  • In conjunction with the Database Manager, creates automated reports while identifying errors and possible anomalies.
  • Uses existing databases to create reports and answers key questions about guest activity such as inquiries regarding demographics, profitability, and campaign redemption.
  • Provides ad-hoc information, reports, databases, lists and analyses for the Marketing department as well as other property departments as needed.
  • Assists in the creation of ROI reports.
  • Works with the Marketing Database Manager to develop analytical methods and practices.
  • Assists and participates in Marketing functions as necessary.
  • Responsible for running queries and extracting files for data analyses.
  • Assists the Database Manager in designing and implementing predictive models to streamline marketing efforts.
  • Responsible for assisting in developing, coordinating, and implementing all aspects and activities of the database in accordance with established policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Assists in other projects and handles job tasks as deemed appropriate.
  • Attends meetings as necessary.
  • Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.
  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Knowledge of database technology, systems infrastructures and direct marketing campaigns.
  • Strong technology, communication and project management skills necessary.
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft software, as 400 query, access, show case query and website maintenance.
  • Ability to run Queries, reports, forms, imports and exports.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities on an on-going basis.
  • Effective team communication and interaction is essential.
  • Background in database marketing or marketing required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, MIS, Math/Statistics or related field preferred.
  • Two or more years experience with database design, list management, and/or programming experience is required.
  • Must possess knowledge of marketing strategies used to increase customer worth, retention, acquisition, and satisfaction.
  • Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work; initiative; well developed inter-personal skills; ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to conduct analysis and generate reports to reflect findings and provide support to staff.
  • Ability to express ideas or make recommendations concerning job related issues; learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments; maintain knowledge of basic concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver formal presentations before public and private concerns.
  • Ability to perceive quality of work, read materials, review documents and receive instructions.
